THE HISTORY OF THE LITTLE MISS SOUTH AFRICA PAGEANT
The Little Miss South Africa pageant is a non-exploitative pageant and were launched very successfully for the first time in 1994, and is the brainchild of Dr Ellen Roux. Since the invention of this pageant it has been growing into an extensive event and a very positive pageant for little girls between the age of 4 and 12 years.
This pageant is an annual event and we would like to inform you about the proceedings, criteria, objectives and our ambitions. The presentations are of a very high professional standard and only professional people in the industry are employed to do the judging. We select the venues to suit and compliment the occasion and through this create an environment for the girls to enjoy themselves and just be a normal child.
Our target market is little girls between the ages of 4 –12 years. The winner should be an energetic, spontaneous, fun loving little girl with charm and ambassadorial qualities. No make-up of hair-do's are allowed in the Little Miss SA Pageant. We want to keep them as natural as possible.
Furthermore, the winner should be a role model for other little girls, by, despite everything to the contrary still remaining a child and setting an example to her compeers. During this process the objectives for the participants are to create an environment for self-improvement, building self confidence and enhancing their self-esteem and inner beauty. In addition, they should benefit educationally to assist them in their further growth and to be trained to act as ambassadors of goodwill committed to nation building and community development.
During the year of her reign, the winner will be allocated a number of duties, as well as attending various functions. One of her main tasks will be to support and attend to the needs of underprivileged and very ill children of all races and creeds. She will also be engage in bringing entertainment, joy and sunshine into the lives of our senior citizens.
The Little Miss South Africa Pageant always starts on the Wednesday, so that the girls can still enjoy their lives as a child in a beautiful nature and save environment. Away from all the noises and stress of the city. All finalists will be treated like real queens from the day of their arrival. A few days of fun is awaiting them
The judges will choose a girl with inner beauty, self-confidence, ambassadorial qualities, and her innocence as a child, her presentation and her verbal skills. All the qualities that are needed to represent South Africa on International level. The winner will also accompany Team South Africa to the World Championships of Performing Arts where she will compete in Modeling. This is one of the ultimate prizes that is up for grabs every year The winner will received a fully paid trip to Los Angeles, she will participate at the World Championships of Performing Arts as well as visiting Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood Walk of Fame and many more.
The objective being to bring the young girls of our vast continent together and thereby aspiring to create a better understanding and goodwill between all nations. With this information, we wish to indicate that this pageant does not revolve around beauty alone, but that the winner must be more than just a pretty face. We trust that you will agree with us as to the constructiveness of this pageant for our little girls.
We are inviting anyone who has interest to support us by donating products from your company, no matter how small or big, each support towards this competition will be highly appreciated. Let us join hands and help our children to live their dreams and reach their goals.
Without the assistance of our sponsors we will not be able to host this pageant annually. In return we will give you exposure for your company at the pageant itself, you are welcome to set up a display of your products in the venue, we will also give you credit in our program book as well as our SAATME Magazine that will be distributed around the country. Should you be interested, please supply us as soon as possible with your logo or advert that will be published. We will also invite you and your partners to our final event.
